If you’re unaware, we’ve been smack dab in the middle of a crazy and slightly unexpected remodel on our house. We bought this house back in February 2022. About 6 months after moving there, my son and I started experiencing some symptoms and flare ups from mold exposure.

Through many tests and working closely with a mold expert and practitioner, we’ve diagnosed what’s going on both in my body and also inside of our house. In order to hopefully make this house livable for us, we decided to remediate and remodel the home. In moving forward with this process, we’d have to cut open walls to get rid of mold issues, so our mentality was “If we’re doin’ it, we’re DOIN’ it!” So here we are with a little remodel update!

Kitchen, Bathroom and House Remodel Update

What life is like during

So thankfully the studio in our backyard was recently remodeled and is fully decked out with a guest bed, a bathroom and space for us to put up with fun tent for Myles. He’s LOVING sleeping in a tent every night and definitely LOVES waking up at 5am every morning asking for snacks, ha! It’s definitely been chaotic and a bit stressful having us all pile in here, juggling work and messy art supplies and not having a kitchen, but we are so grateful to even have this space to begin with!

The Bathroom Tile!

Yes! We went bold with the tile!! Green is a color for healing and growth, so it seemed fitting to deck out the bathroom (which was completely covered in mold when we opened the walls up) in this color.

Bold Choices on the Kitchen

We didn’t change the footprint, but absolutely NEEDED more cabinet space to work with, so we had Dave from MacBeth Millwork build out something specific to our needs. We don’t use a dishwasher or microwave, so that helped create some extra, much needed cabinet space.

The Links!

So, here it is current day! Still missing a couple of items, but I thought I’d do a roundup of all of the links on products and furniture, and builders for you to check out!

*This list includes affiliate links which means I may earn a small comission if you decide to purchase. It costs you nothing and I would share it anyway, so it's a win-win!
