Then we'll kick it off with the basics including the importance of supplies, which supplies to choose, and how to understand color relationships and color theory.

TECHNIQUES

Learning how to use basic strokes to create an abstract piece with swatches. Color palette, basic composition, wet on wet technique and other basic drills and lessons pulled from the first section of all three of my books (yes, including Everyday Watercolor Seashores!!)

FORM, PERSPECTIVE & LIGHT

Deep dive into wet on dry technique the differences between wet on wet and wet on dry, when to use each technique and how to apply them from different lessons in each of my three books.
This section will have you adding depth and detail to your subjects, while the previous section focuses on basics, brush techniques and wet on wet painting.

Do I need the Everyday Watercolor book to take the course?
Nope, but it can be helpful! This course is not a replica of the books. It's an extraction of the main methods and techniques I cover in each book with applications from all three subjects (general, flowers, seashores). So think of it literally like a companion to the books—great for working alongside the book to have more insights and to see my brush in action while using the same language and structure of my books!
Frequently Asked Questions
Should I get all three books in the Everyday Watercolor series?
If it were me I would have 'em all cause they're awesome and it would be a very helpful tool to have both all of the books AND the course because they correspond and compliment each other's teachings so well. Everyday Watercolor Seashores comes out on March 5, 2024!
When does course access start?
As soon as you sign up!
Is this course appropriate for beginners?
Absolutely! The course and my books are both structured in a way where each technique and lesson gradually builds upon the previous so it's great for beginners and beyond!
What supplies do I need?
At least the basics: watercolor paper, brushes, pigments, palette, pencil, and masking fluid. The Everyday Watercolor books are helpful, too, as I mentioned above. Check out my recommended supplies here!
How do I watch the course after I purchase?
You'll receive a confirmation email when you sign up and then on January 1st, we'll be sending out a reminder email to everyone and you'll be able to access the course with your login details through Kajabi, our course hosting platform.
For the one year access option, when does it expire?
You will have access for one year after the purchase date. If you purchase before January 1, 2024, you will have access through December 31, 2024 since the course content isn't released until January 1st.
What is your refund policy for this course?
Like all of our mini courses, all sales are final.
How much time should I dedicate to learning and implementing the material?
That totally depends on you, your availability and the time you take to watch the videos AND practice the techniques. It's all self-led so you can go at your own pace.
What's the difference between this course and your YouTube channel and The Complete Beginner's Guide to Watercolor eBook/video?
My YouTube Channel and Patreon mostly show specific tutorials, for example, a rose tutorial or a series on watercolor trees. Everyday Watercolor Companion Course will be a compilation of every technique and lesson covered in my books with 3 application tutorials at the end from each one of my books. This course is also much more in-depth than the Complete Beginner's Guide.
What's the difference between this course and your new holiday-themed YouTube series?
The YouTube series for December 2023 is a taste of what's going into Everyday Watercolor Companion Course. The companion course will go much more in-depth and show lots of troubleshooting and common mistakes.
What's the difference between Everyday Watercolor Companion Course and The Art Within?
The Art Within is a course on masting art foundations (with a strong focus on sketching), developing your own style as an artist, and getting into flow state to deepen your art practice. Everyday Watercolor Companion Course focuses on the main watercolor techniques and lessons from my books to help you grasp the teachings in the books beter!
